Indeed, in just 56 years, he had reached a true state of semi-divinity. He was a symbol of innovation, of humanity, of change.
I was looking at Twitter; yesterday the iPhone 4S had not even become a trend topic, yet now there are 5 items on 10 relating to Steve, a clear sign that Apple was Steve and Steve was Apple.
Few people reach this level, he is one of the few who really managed to change the world.

We at WDD are deeply saddened by Steve Jobs’ passing… And while the Internet is buzzing with people’s heartfelt emotions about his life’s impact and legacy, we’d also like to pay tribute with this modest homage. A designer at heart, design was at the core of Steve’s life and that translated to revolutionary and yes we can also say ‘magical’ products. But he says it better: “Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works.” And we can only imagine how many lives have been influenced by his vision and how deep he reached into all the corners of the world… In this post, we’ve collected some rare photos of Steve as well as some famous quotes that depict his visions and personality. Editor’s note: This piece originally ran when Steve Jobs resigned as Apple CEO. Jobs passed away on Oct. 5 and I felt like this was more appropriate than ever. We send our deepest condolences to the Jobs family.

As you know by now, Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO of Apple and while he will still be a chairman and have a larger impact on the company, it really is an end of an era. I thought it would be an appropriate time to express my gratitude to Jobs for what he has done for this industry.
